Updating to 4.6 and installing Gentoo/FreeBSD on amd64

Tonight I’m going to (attempt to) update to Xfce-4.6 on my Xfce VM, so I’ll let you know how that goes goes.

On a side note, drizzt has been busy working on stages for Gentoo/FreeBSD on amd64, so I’m probably going to attempt to install that in a VM, and see how we get on with that. With any luck, we’ll hopefully have the ~amd64-fbsd keyword in the tree at this rate! :)

Hi Peter, It’s good to hear that Xfce 4.6 is rolling along toward ~arch or arch on amd64… same for amd64-fbsd!

Question for ya: Xfce 4.4.3 isn’t going to be obseleted/pulled anytime soon will it???

I tried out the xfce4-dev overlay and really hated not having a menu editor. That was a deal-breaker for me.

Any Idea as to whether or not that feature will be in the official portage repository, or if it will come by way of 4.4.8 or something?

I didn’t like some of what I saw in 4.6 unfortunately from the overlay and I reimaged my system back to 4.4.3 from my archive *pout*

Anyhow I’d like to offer my regards on your efforts for Gentoo’s Xfce fans!!!

    Cheers!

There is either a problem with Xfce, or a problem with Xfce on Gentoo… I told you about this on IRC earlier, but I’m telling you again now so you don’t forget :P
basically, in terminal under Xfce, you can normally use ALT+NUM to navigate between tabs. Alt+2 doesn’t work… and I’ve checked what I can and it’s not one of my settings, thus I believe it’s a bug.
